Levertov, Denise, Adrienne Rich, Archibald MacLeish, Eight Broadside Poems and Old Wooden Ampersands from the Art of the Book Course at Saybrook College, Yale, 1986
Levertov, Denise, Adrienne Rich, Archibald MacLeish
Eight Broadside Poems and Old Wooden Ampersands from the Art of the Book Course at Saybrook College, Yale, 1986
New Haven, Conn.: The Underbrook Press at Yale University, 1986. Eight unbound Broadside Poems and Old Wooden Ampersands from The Art of the Book course at Saybrook College, Yale, 1986. 12 x 7.5 inches. Somewhere around fifteen copies of this book were printed in the depths of Saybrook College at Yale University during the final hours of spring term 1986 for a seminar optimistically titled The Art of the Book. The text is mostly 12 and 14 point Caslon (471 for those in the know), a good bit of which was borrowed in desperation from Branford College, accompanied by old wooden &s scavenged in Oregon by Peter B. Howard and graciously lent by John Ruyle of the Pequod Press, all printed by our trusty Vandercook on Mohawk Superfine Soft White 70 lb. grain long paper and bound in Canson Mi-Teintes (95 cents at Kaye's) of various hues with Sobo glue and some generic thread taken surreptitiously from the Pierson Press. My deepest thanks to you all - it was, as usual, a group effort. .
